A sad time brings the family together.
The death of Griffin Palmer ,my niece Tara,s 10 yr old was a tragedy felt throughout our family. Sister Simmone and her daughter Tanya drove down from Montreal and the family came together to support Tara and her other children. Here is the latest photo of the Arsenault family.

Here i am enjoying a brewski with one of my all time favorite players Randy Mohns of Pettawawa Ont.Randy and wife Suzan came to THE ISLAND for a short visit. Randy was a great player but i remember him also for his rendition of ringa ranga roo in Prague in 1976.
VIVA DANDELIONS.....Don,t you love Dandelions????So pretty!!!Lots of people hate them and pour pesticides all over their lawns....poisoning animals and kids to get rid of these beautiful flowers.I love those little critters!!!They were cultivated for hundreds of years in europe. flowers, leaves and roots are all edible........Full of vit c and potassium. I put them in my smoothie in the morning or add them to my scrambled eggs......yummie!!!!! This year i,ll make some Dandelion Wine......Can,t wait.....Just add suger ,water boil, juice from 2 lemons ,1 orange and a cake of yeast.......Wait for a bit and voila.....Party time......No....... you can,t come because you don,t love Dandelions....... You do!!!OK You can come ....see you soon...
Neigh-sayers.....Some folks believe that Canada shouldn,t have a horsemeat Industry......Horsemeat is popular in Europe, especially France. And i recall they had horse butcher shops in Quebec. Why not.?...i say. Cows are nice and we eat them.!!!! I love cows .I love horses... but i really don,t understand why we can,t eat them. Lately, i,ve been eating a lot of my healthy rice and chicken.......but ......i,m hankerin for a nice juicy horsemeat steak like they served up on our hockey trip to czechoslovakia in 1976. The Concordia Stingers were the first Canadian Univ Team to travel to that country and we were treated like NHLers......After every game( 9 ).....we were treated to a banquet........and most of the time it was horsemeat steak.......Most of the guys caught on quickly and started making jokes ........Like......"I hope if i break a leg they don,t shoot me"......Our old trainor Russ Blackwell was a fussy eater and didn,t realize that he was eating horse........until during one meal i asked him how he liked his steak.......He said good and i said it probably came in 3rd at blue bonnets (montreal racetrack)..last week. So then it hit him .......about all the jokes etc and he about turned white. From that point on he turned over all his meat to the team eating champ Dwight Mick from Micksberg.......Can you believe it????
