Yes, it,s true.....I did make a mistake .......I invited Cousin Shane to join me for the PANTHER HOCKEY GAME LAST NIGHT......but the game was in FREDERICTON N.B. So ,i took some heat at coffee this morning but unlike my esteemed collegues I do admit when i,m wrong.....I have yet to hear any of those crybabies admit an error......And Roger still doesn,t know what the true budget is for his department...!..Come to think of it ....it,s probably a big mistake for me to be having coffee with this bunch of losers......I could be enjoying the company of someone interesting and good looking!!!! A recent survey of Dept of Vets employees found a high percentage of satisfaction with their workplace.......However ,one area came in for an abnormal amount of criticism.....Guess what???? PARKING..!....and guess who,s in charge??? LE GRANDE MANATOU SHANE!!!!!!Now, he,s still under suspension from the PEI HOCKEY ASSOCIATION......and the SPUD TOURNEY is coming up......Don,t be surprised if he trys to sneak into some of the games !!! Keep your eyes open boys!!! And after an extensive investigation ,a RAT has been exposed......Roger "THE RUNT" has been making comments on the blog posing as "THE PRES."....The french was just TOO GOOD..!....and too supportive of the little armpit!!! Now we,ll have to figure out an appropriate punishment .....i,LL ASK barney ....he,ll know !!!!!!

Storming again on stanhope lane.......We,ve already been stormstayed twice this year and hopefully we,ll be able to get into town tomorrow.......As for tonights planned PUB CRAWL....We,ll have to postpone until tomorrow.....I,m sure THE BLACK WIDOW will be there ! Lots of DOG TRAFFIC continues on STANHOPE LANE.......I might have to book a time for TIA,S WORKOUT if this keeps up! The UPEI PANTHERS are still on a losing streak ....lost 3 of last 4 games......They play DALHOUSIE on fri and it,s DR HARRY CALLAGHAN NIGHT so ,no doubt ,the largest crowd of the season will show to honor one of PEI,S FINEST MEN......And we,re missing our PRES JIM ....still taking his FRENCH COURSE.....Apparently he,s learned how to order at a FRENCH RESTAURANT  sofar.....GOOD JOB JIM!!!!And now ROGER "THE RUSTICO RUNT" is planning to return to school when he retires in the near future........He was kicked out of QUEEN SQUARE for trying to date the teacher.....TOM BRADLEY!!!! He wants to major in  PSYCHOLOGY and minor in PROCTOLOGY......Then he,ll open a clinic in RUSTICO and name it ODDS and ENDS!!!!..

Hello Hockey fans out there it,s been a slow winter thusfar........Now Sidney Crosby won,t be coming to ch,town to play against the Rocket tonite.........Ah shucks maybe everyone should go and watch a good hockey game with the UPEI PANTHERS playing at the MAC......And THE PRES  is nowhere to be found......He,s in FRANCE...or taking a french course????? And making comments "in french" on this blog.....Roger "THE RUNT" is also missing in action .....He had his blood checked yesterday and he,s been restricted to residence by the PEI HEALTH POLICE........I just wonder if we,ll see THE PRES at the FRENCH TABLE at the FARMERS MARKET on sat..????Now they,re talking about putting TIGER WILLIAMS into the HALL OF FAME......for his pugilistic efforts in the NHL......If he gets in FORBIE KENNEDY could be next.....pound for pound one of the best fighters in NHL HISTORY.. University hockey was not known for having a lot of fighters but early in my coaching career we had a few good ones that come to mind.....Kenny McCarthy  was a young defenseman who helped us win a championship with his fists......Our Captain was being CONTINUALLY HARRASSED by a rather large and" ugly"opponent in a playoff final game.......It looked like he would have to fight the guy because the REF wasn,t going to call a penalty.....Our chances would be lessened without him in the lineup so i asked KENNY to help us out..!..It didn,t take him long to get involved with the guy in front of our net and put him out with a nice right hook....Both players were kicked out of the game but we went on to win and Kenny was our hero of the day .Now, when Roger reads this he will no doubt make some derogatory comment about my coaching ,but  in the words of DON CHERRY "let him and the other sweethearts cry"!Just remember...".We fear things in proportion to our ignorance of them"...

And now  Cousin Shane has some support for his contention that a healthy diet and exercise make no differance in a persons longevity........Two German doctors have written a book which essentially advocate laziness  to live longer....High energy sports and activities , according to them, accelerate the ageing process.......Shane will be happy to hear this.!!!! and "ROGER THE RUNT " will live forever !!!!And ,ive taken a lot of heat from GRUMPY AND GOOFY ,thats  Shane and Roger,for my predictions on the CANADA - RUSSIA final in the world juniors.....But, as i said ,if the RUSSIAN GOALTENDER has a bad game ..?......I didn,t think he would......But he did..!..Two of the first 3 goals were weak......Then it was no contest!!!! And it looks like i,ve started a trend on STANHOPE LANE.......In the last few days i,ve seen 4 or 5 dogs being run beside trucks on the lane....Tia will be proud that she has led the way !!!!And the UPEI PANTHERS have started the 2nd half with 2 losses .......I think that the fact they didn,t play any pre christmas exhibitions hurt them in the early games .....Hopefully they can find themselves and start winning this wkend at home.....And it was the birthdate of ELVIS this wkend......Did you know that 1 out of 4 north americans think Elvis is still alive....Roger thinks he saw him at the chinese restaurent in CORNWALL.but it was probably the local ELVIS "the cat".....ELVIS, would be 70 now!!And the SENIOR TEAM that i was to train for the ALLEN CUP has been cancelled because of lack of funds......So now i can concentrate on my ROCKETTES WOMEN,S TEAM......

And the most important game of this NO NHL SEASON goes tonight.....The CANADIAN JUNIORS take on the always great RUSSIANS in a sudden death final for the WORLD TITLE.....I hope the juniors win but ,my experience tells me that it will not be easy....We have lost to the RUSSIANS the last few years because they have outskilled us when our players have been picked for their PHYSICALITY, if that is a word???This year our team has more skilled players but if they try to intimidate the RUSSIANS by HITTING ....penalties could spell the differance .....The Russians will have more skilled players because thats what they concentrate on.....But the key will be the goaltending.....as usual......The favorites will have the most pressure and the longer the game stays close the more pressure will be on the goaltender....He hasn,t been tested in the tournament yet but he has performed well in pressure situations previously......Lets hope he is at his best tonight.....or perhaps the RUSSIAN goaltender will have a bad night......But don,t count on it!!!!!

Yes, it,s true, i did have a little too much to drink on NEW YEARS......As i had the opportunity to stay in town and not have to drive i found myself overindulging......And i paid the price the next day.....Trying every HANGOVER REMEDY i could think of.....Thats the bodies way of reminding us that life is a story of ups and downs......First...i drank plenty of water and took some vitamin c......Just made me go to the bathroom....Perhaps the CHINESE CURE of boiling bananas and drinking the juice..????...Didn,t have any bananas!! The english are a nation of drunks.!...but i couldn,t get in touch with my english friend. Surely , THE PRESIDENT JIM..himself being ,all irish ,must have a cure, but unfortunately his dear wife couldn,t wake him up!!....Guess why????Ah ha...The old Russian trick of drinking the salty juice from pickles.....Very tasty but not cured yet...Models chew crystallized ginger but alas i was all out......I decided to miss a nice meal at my brothers and take a nap.....Later when my neighbor called to invite me over i accepted and enjoyed a HAIR OF THE DOG REMEDY.....and VOILA ,I,M BACK !!!!! .And THE PRES has decided his NEW YEARS RESOLUTION is to comment only in FRENCH on the BLOG????He,s taking a french course at the DVA....".heavens to mercatroid "WHAT NEXT??? Roger the runt trying out for his alma matre SHERBROOKE in FOOTBALL???He could play THE BALL!!!!
