Can you believe it???? It,s fri again........The week went fast and congrats to Bob Lund and all the RED SOX fans....After years of pain and suffering they finally came through and with a fellow ,i met once when he was with the MONTREAL EXPOS....Terry Francona.....My buddy Fred Whitacre was GM of the WEST PALM BEACH EXPOS and i got to meet a lot of ballplayers through him.....He phoned this week from COLARADO to give DR. lund his best regards......And what about Roger???? He didn,t even know that the WORLD SERIES WAS BASEBALL....let alone being played now....What a guy!!!!!And he,s very upset about the SPECIAL POEM i wrote for HALLOWEEN...My random act of poetry!!!!......I told him that he should feel honored that someone wrote him a poem..but no...he didn,t even show for coffee today.....But we did have an exciting visit from some DVA employees dressed in HALLOWEEN COSTUMES......One dressed all in black caught my attention!!!.Hope she comes to my door for a TREAT on sunday????.Two big games for the PEI PANTHER HOCKEY SQUAD this wkend.....Tonight vs DAL and tomorrow vs ST F.X. Oh, almost forgot to mention that sat from 9am to 12pm at the atlantic vet college we,ll all get to find out "ARE HORSES HAPPY" ??I,ll have to miss my FARMER,S MARKET THING ....but this is a once  in a lifetime opportunity......See you there!!!!

But all of the folks could easilly see

And now the employees can........all say

That ROGER THE RUNT has been safely...put away

Well the PEI PANTHERS are on the winning track ......Tied Dal and beat ST. FX on the wkend.....Meanwhile my old team in MILANO are off to a slow start.....But be assured it won,t take long for them to be on top.....Of course it,ll be interesting to see how the x MILAN players playing in BOLZANO play against their old squad,.....A lot of folks have asked me about ROGER.....Well 1 or 2.! I can,t draw you a picture on this blog but maybe i can mention a few of his lookalikes.....Have you seen TRAILERPARK BOYS??? Bubbles looks a little like Rog.....Except a little more intelligent looking. Also you may have seen MASH....Radar is another Twin ....separated at birth!!!!Pres Jim and i enjoyed a fine MIDGET AAA game today and the right team won......Guess the midgets don,t rate cause they didn,t turn the heat on at the arena.....Must get to work this week on a few ART PROJECTS.....And my Aunt Val is slowing down at WHISPERWOOD.....I train her on the treadmill a few times a week....She used to do about 20 min and therefore i was forced to press the incline button.So i could get to coffee club on time....Since she,s blind.she couldn,t tell ..!...........Don,t need to do that now....She,s down to 9 min..but i,m thinking of starting her on INTERVAL TRAINING to build her back up????? We,ll see!!!.....

Up to the fair ville de Summerside yesterday to look at facilities for our TRAINING CAMP for our ISLANDER,S SENIOR HOCKEY SQUAD......We,ll run a 2 day camp on the 20th and 21st to get things started.....Should have a good number of former junior, college and semi pro players.....I,m sure ,if we can get some good exhibition games ,we,ll make a good showing in SASKATCHAWAN in april......The winners represent CANADA in EUROPE next season.....Roger wants to try out but i told him i can,t be responsible for injuries......If the DVA wants to cover him for MAJOR MEDICAL ....We might let him suit up ....But that would be another problem finding equip,ment small enough.....Maybe a PEE WEE will get injured and we can borrow his gear.????At least the boys would get a good laugh at the tryouts .....Would be good for TEAM BUILDING!!!!!And i,ve been asked to help some ladies organize a hockey team......We had 1 practice sofar and it,ll be interesting and fun.....Maybe we can get a game against Vince,s Team of DOLLS??? Could be a good replacement for the NHL this season????

Interesting lecture yesterday at the ACADIAN MUSEUM about the ARSENAULTS of PEI......Apparently they were the only group of ISLAND ACADIANS not to be expelled by the british......Because they lived in the western part of PEI around MALPEQUE BAY and there weren,t enough ships available to get them ......Before the british could bring the ships back the next year ...The Arsenault families had escaped to an area in northern NB......And according to an unscientific survey the ARSENAULT name is the 3rd largest population on PEI......First being the MACDONALDS and then ROGER,S family THE GALLANTS.....Although not much research has been made it is quite possible that the ARSENAULT line can be traced back to HENRI 4TH of FRANCE.........It,s been discovered also that Roger,s family can be traced back to a clown in the court of KING HENRI......This ancestor was hired to amuse the passengers and crew on the voyage to ACADIA......Later he performed for SAMUAL DE CHAMPLAIN at the weekly ( ORDRE DE BON TEMPS) .....But records show he ran into trouble at a dinner when he tried to show a trick with fire and burned CHAMPLAINS beard off......He escaped to PEI and had 14 children ......All very funny.....if you know what i mean????Article in the NATIONAL POST today with former CONCORDIA ( sir george) ALL CANADIAN GOALTENDER ,BERNIE WOLFE......Bernie played for the WASHINGTON CAPITALS .for 4 years and played 18 games in his hometown against the CANADIANS .....His record 0-18 ......overall ,he was 20-61-21......Not bad considering that he started at SIR GEORGE as a backup goalie on a very weak team..Bernie is one of the reasons ,i stayed in college coaching so long.....To see a young man  who had no future in hockey develop into an NHL or PRO PLAYER gave me the greatest feeling as a coach...even though ,i might have played only a small part in his success....Oh, I just remembered ......We did find a RHUM RUNNER in our family tree......But he was a GALLANT from TIGNISH.....The father of my grandmother ARSENAULT.......God....Does that mean that Roger and i are related??????

The DVA was on strike this week so it was tough to find a seat at TIMS........We managed to get a few short meeting going however.......The NHL players are taking jobs away from minor pros in EUROPE.......Could be interesting if the league goes to replacement players next season......Won,t be much sympathy for the players ...as is the case now.....The UPEI PANTHERS lost their first game to ST. THOMAS.....The panthers played well and should be very competitive this year.....I expect them to , at least, get into the league final......Took a job this week to coach a senior team from PEI to train for the ALLAN CUP......Should be an interesting challange and we have our pick of some great players from the other  parts of the maritimes....Today ,my brother and i will travel to the ACADIAN MUSEUM to attend a lecture about the ARSENAULTS of PEI......Should be interesting to find out if we had any RHUM RUNNERS in the family tree....

Did i miss it?????? I,m talking about the article that i didn,t see in the local paper about WEST KENT SCHOOL......This school was selected as  having one of the top physical education programs in canada......Now to me that should be something that is important to report....Especially on PEI where most of the kids are overweight and physically challanged....I see the overrated ROCKETS are always front page news......What,s wrong with this picture....Wake up!!! And there is an investigation into PRES JIM DOYLE,S win in our annual tourney......Apparently the ball he said he found in the bush was not his......Shane says it couldn,t be ...since he had it in his pocket!! They are both disqualified and that makes me the CHAMP!!!!..

And futher proof that info on the blog is truly worthwhile......In todays GUARDIAN....."covers the island like the dew.".....DR.W.GIFFORD JONES talks about the benefits of COLDFX ,a pill that seems to be especially effective in fighting the common cold..And something that i talked about last winter .....Even DON CHERRY is a believer ...For the first time in his life he went the entire winter without catching a cold ..Now 26 NHL clubs are using this to ward off the flu bug.....I,ve recommended it to ROGER but he,s afraid it might affect his DWARF BOWLING career.He,s hoping that it becomes an OLYMPIC SPORT and is afraid that it may contain some banned substances......See below for info on our annual golf tourney..Won by THE PRES....

SPECIAL PRESS RELEASE

President Jim Doyle has won the annual TIM HORTON,S ( NOT QUITE OVER THE HILL GANG) golf extravaganza....Yes after a 12 year absence from the sport  and utilizing an unusual baseball type swing ,he was still able to defeat runner up THE COACH and 3rd place finisher Shane " PEI HOCKEY ASSOC WHIPPING BOY " HENNESSEY......After the match and with a few beers , he was able to explain that he developed a system at the DVA which allows him to go to a "quiet place"......In other words he was in the" ZONE.".".This is something that all FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES must learn if they hope to advance in the system" he said.....".Usually they don,t get it until late in their careers but somehow i,ve jumped ahead and no doubt headed for great success."...Oh ,by the way ...The DVA is on strike today!!!.Roger ,was not able to play.....He,s developed a RASH and Helen made him stay home and take a bath......

It,s Pub Night at THE MERCHANTMAN......Oh ,that reminds me, someone wants some info on ITALY for an extended trip to the land of PASTO and PESTO.......They don,t realize that all i did was work there......Didn,t get a chance to sitesee much....But ,i did spend some time in The Dolimite mountains ,close to VENICE......and MILANO where my off days i spent in beautiful LAKE COMO.....The police are looking for ROGER.......He,s been implicated in the disappearance of a dozen cats in cornwall......Rumour is he,s been seen hanging around a certain restaurant in that PAYTON PLACE.....Sexual perverts and now CAT KIDNAPPERS ....Whats next for CORNWALL????And now more evidence that DIET CAN MAKE YOU SICK.....An article last week outlined how a man in Alberta seemingly cured his son of MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS by changing his diet......Apparently ALBERTA has twice the incidents of MS as NEWFOUNDLAND and JAPAN has vertually no MS....It seems that the lack of vitamin D could be one cause of this debilitating desease......Exposure to Sun and Fish could be a preventitive measure for all......And Cousin Shane embarressed us at the Culinary this week.....He got one of his frequent cell phone calls and couldn,t hear ....So he opened the exit door and set off the fire alarm........Even Roger was hiding his face and he,s used to humiliation.....Now since the liquor commission has refused the application by the flying club to host topless dancers.....Roger has applied to the bar for DWARF BOWLING.....He,s the perfect size for a STRIKE!!!!

Didn,t make it to Montreal for the Hall of Fame presentation at CONCORDIA.....I,ll try to go later in NOV for the hockey reunion .....Saw two good hockey games at the Mclaughlin Arena.....JRA on sat nite and MIDGET AAA on sun.....Really enjoy watching the midgets.....They make lots of mistakes which lead to scoring opportunities galore.....They work hard with some good hits and intensity and their are lots of local kids to follow.....The charlottetown team has some great small players that can buzz.....Also you can see the potential easily at this level......The UPEI facility is a great place to watch hockey also...So superior to the CIVIC CENTRE.....Had a visit from the local CAT BURGLAR this morning at coffee....Couldn,t get a word in edgewise ....I think Roger was trying to tell me his plans for retirerment.....He wants to be the first man on the Sun????? Thinks he,ll be ok as long as he arrives at night!!! He IS from RUSTICO!!!And thats the end of the EXPOS.....I had some great times visiting my buddy FRED WHITACRE when he was general manager of their farm team in florida....Had the opportunity to shag flys at practice with some future major leaguers.....Threw my arm out trying to impress!!!
