Rain today, so i think i,ll head into the big city and check out the muffins at Tim,s place......Did you see that IDIOT that jumped on the marathon runner from BRAZIL???? It looked like he was wearing ITALIAN COLORS but they said he was a priest from IRELAND. I didn,t see anything in our local newspaper this morning ????....The BRAZILIAN got the BRONZE and a special SPORTSMANSHIP award....The idiots in jail ,i hope.,....Even Roger wouldn,t try something like that......come to think of it .,..the guy did look a little like the runt......but can,t be, or may be a distant IRISH relative that was originally from FRANCE and missed the boat with CHAMPLAIN..????? The Rustico Runt was on a camping excursion with his FRUITY FRIENDS.....We,ll get all the details today.......Also any new developments in the PEI HOCKEY ASSOC vs COUSIN SHANE....Busy season on the ISLAND for our young athletes.....Playoffs in baseball and soccer....tryouts for hockey and school starts soon........Roger says he had a great time on his camping and hiking  trip......They all had separate tents???? The trails were good .!... but he,s going to suggest that they make them wider because it was  hard for the three of them to hold hands while hiking ...

Looks like i,ve created a monster........now i,m getting pressure if i don,t have a blog for a few days........My guests have finally gone after a nice visit to the ISLAND.......They were really impressed with CROWBUSH GOLF COURSE.....They had a perfect day and no bugs......Cousin Shane and i had a bet that noone would ever pay to stay at my GUESTHOUSE......They paid but he still wouldn,t pay up!!!!I expected as much since he,s so cheap.......When his wife LINDA said she wanted to see the world , he gave her a MAP!!!!At his wedding reception ,he asked for seperate checks!!! Roger the Runt has gone hiking with his friends.......ALONE!! NOT REALLY.......He ,s going hiking ....thats funny because the longest hike he ever made was when he lost his car at the MAL MART parking lot.....Last time he went he sent a recommendation to the PROVINCE to please avoid building trails that go uphill.......What an athlete he is ?????Big news in CHARLOTTETOWN......The city wants bars to close their outdoor decks at midnight......Seems some of the folks can,t get to sleep.....We,ll watch this closely.......And the latest on THE SUSPENSION from the PEI HOCKEY ASSOCIATION....Now Shane has his brother MIKE involved.....If this keeps escalating i expect it,ll be NATIONAL NEWS soon.?????And a recent article has confirmed what i,ve been saying about BLUEBERRIES.......Seems they contain an anti cholesterol compound called PTEROSTILBENE.. a lot like RED WINE which is credited with giving FRANCE a very low rate of heart desease.....Some scientists believe BLUEBERRIES are also good for preventing DIABETES and CANCER....So i load up my SMOOTHY every morning with these beautiful PEI BLUEBERRIES..........Hope you do too!!!

Why are we so surprised that CANADA doesn,t win more medals at the OLYMPICS? Has anyone checked out the physical education programs at our schools..????....This is the development system for our youth and it,s very poor indeed......We probably have the worst system in the world amongst the most affluent nations.......When i was on the CANADA FITNESS COUNCIL i was often told that since education was a PROVINCIAL MATTER the FEDS couldn,t do anything to improve the PHYS ED PROGRAMS in our schools.......If you,re a hockey player their are plenty of opportunities but other sports less so....Take a look at our students on PEI......Not many can be described as physically fit or maybe i,m mistaken!!!!! Big meeting today at Tims ...Everyone wants to hang with the famous SHANE HENNESSEY....The only garbage man in CANADA to be suspended from all minor hockey on PEI..."..Heavens to Mercatroid" i,m so excited.."

Oh,Oh, Cousin Shane made the top of the news on local radio today......The PEI HOCKEY ASSOCIATION has now suspended the 3 minor coaches that wrote a letter of support to the local paper....Sounds like a little overkill to me......!!! Must be some pretty bullheaded people leading this effort????Had a nice surprise this wkend ...one of my former players Derek " Eddy" Watt, dropped by the coach,s house for a visit.....accompanied by his beautiful wife Carrol and daughter Ryann and son Conner....We had a short visit as they were on there way to the ferry for nova scotia.....Really great to have them drop by......and word has it that Roger the Runt is in the doghouse again........Wife Helen caught him taking pictures of people going into the SEXOHOLICS  ANONYMOUS meeting in ch,town on sat.......And he was taking pictures of the MEN?????

Good news for the gamblers on PEI and the harness racing industry.......A RACINO is going to be operating at the ch,town driving park...Now it,s easier then ever to lose your welfare check!! And councillor BRUCE GARRITY is very upset that hiring practices were not followed for 4 new jobs with the city.....Garrity says that he often hears ISLANDERS asking " WHO DID HE KNOW "? when a person lands a plum job.......Hard to believe that someone could be hired without a proper competition for the job!!! But they say it happens.......And a new ownership group will direct the fortunes of our JR A ABBIES.....Word on the street has it that the same group were instumental in hiring the new DIR OF HOCKEY at UPEI...And according to CBC RADIO the #1 song for the 80,s is MICHAEL JACKSON,S " BILLY JEAN.".....Roger also has some personal favorites including " THANKS TO THE CATHOUSE I,M IN THE DOGHOUSE WITH YOU" and HOW COME YOUR DOG DON,T BITE NOBODY BUT ME "?......Another SQUIRREL caught in the COACH,S HOUSE TRAP.......Have to drop him off at Roger,s tonite.......

Finally ,light at the end of the tunnel .......Visitors are almost all gone ,and we can get back to normal at the coach,s house.....Roger the Runt had his birthday OPEN HOUSE on fri....He tried to take credit for the beautiful gardens at his estate in the" PAYTON PLACE" of PEI....CORNWALL.....but we know that it,s all the work of wife HELEN....The Cantwell reunion was a wonderful success thanks to cousin Genetta and her husband Dunstan......Lots of good food and chatting with the Cantwell clan.....Cousin Andy our family genealogist , gave a great presentation.which was well received by everyone.....Cousin Shane and i did our SMOTHER,S BROTHERS ACT.......and we even got a laugh or two!!!! It seems that Cousin Coleen won the lotto to host the poor man,s WILLY NELSON HAL..Hennessey.....Shane says thats because everyone else took their name out of the hat !!!!!Now ,if i can get that squirrel thats running around my house .i,m sure Roger would love to have the little sucker in Helen,s garden ??????

Took my neighbor " Lance" Stewart to St John yesterday .....He,s going on a bike tour around the maritimes.....Not as many RV,S on the road as in past years.......I stopped in Moncton on the way back to check out the Wine prices......Saw wine there for 20 to 40% less then at the liquor stores on PEI.......Why are we paying so much more for wine??? Must talk to my friends at the Liquor commission.....Caught another squirrel ....brother or sister of the first....Dropped him or her off at the same spot on Union road.....Hope they find each other!!! Roger was at coffee yesterday seems his wife has been wrapping his lunch with a roadmap lately......He,s trying to figure out why??? But we can guess!!!!Letter in todays GUARDIAN....covers PEI like the dew, supporting Cousin Shane against the ruling to suspend him from his work with the PEI HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.....

Back to normal at the coaches house . The AUNTIES are gone and it,s just me at the ever elert GUARDDOG TIA.....We caught a squirrel last nite and i transported him or her to the union road.....Thought about taking him to Rogers but maybe next time......I sprayed some pink paint on his tail to see if he comes back......You never know what those little rascals can do....Then my neighbor JOHN " LANCE "STEWART the cycle champ of stanhope lane , told me he saw a guy dropping off a couple of squirrels on our lane last week.....Just what we need....IMPORT SQUIRRELS.....What a great day yesterday at the MIKE CURRIE CLASSIC.....Thanks to cousin Shane i got to go this year....It,s a two hole golf challange in Mike,s back yard in CARDIGAN....Lot,s of great people and food and the short holes are a real challange...especially when everyone is trying to distract you as you,re setting up to hit the ball.....Our team came up with a score of 32 which was good for 4th spot.....But young JIMMY PUBLICOVER ,our designated driver, won the closest to the hole and 4 cans of LOBSTER..Next wkend is the Cantwell reunion and it,s looking to be quite the show.........And i just received a nice birthday card from ACE and PIX in COLORADO........And realized that i forgot the BEAUTIFUL PIX,S birthday on the 30th...Can she ever forgive me???? You know she will...I hope!!!!!

Well it,s been hectic at the coach,s house the last few weeks.....Brother in law Bill was here and he,s a Golf fanatic.....Talks to his clubs everyday and keeps them in his car all winter so they don,t get lonely........I had to perform some special stretching tecniques on THE RUSTICO RUNT last week......The folks at Tim,s were shocked!!!! And i understand that a certain lady is not very happy that i accused the employees of DVA of being lazy.....Well ,i didn,t say they were ALL lazy.......But Roger,s boss is giving him a raise cause his snoring is keeping the rest of the employees AWAKE.....And cousin shane is trying to get a job as a tester in the matress factory......I understand that the job i applied for at UPEI was a done deal before the interviews were held......Doesn,t surprise me!!!!! But i am a little disappointed......Great party here on sunday for my annual BARBQ......And now we,re getting ready for the CANTWELL REUNION next week.....Old home week coming up also and the regular gathering of the guys from that PRIVATE BOYS SCHOOL in ch,town QUEEN SQUARE....But i understand that quite a few can,t make it because their PROBATION OFFICERS won,t let them travel......And i,m using HORSE linament on my tennis elbow......It,s not doing much good yet and i have a strong craving for HAY.......It,s got a stong smell and it kept Roger awake for the whole coffee club this morning.....Pres Jim is back and Father Gil also showed today....Cousin Shane was telling THE PRES that poor Roger took a lot of abuse from me during his absence . I,ll bring the crying towel next week....
